Navigating Covid-19
Haley Street has been very diligent with keeping the health and safety of our participants our number one priority during this pandemic.
Staff worked tirelessly during the first few months of the pandemic putting together a re-opening proposal in co-ordination with the Nova Scotia Department of Health, and Community Services.
This plan has been evaluated and approved to be a safe space for our participants to return to work. We have developed a Covid Co-Ordinator position on our staff team that regularly corresponds with the Department of Health and develops/modifies protocols as necessary.
Some of the protocols in place include:
-Pod sizes of no more than 10 with social distancing and mask wearing
-Temperature checks and hand sanitizer upon entering the facility
-Avoiding crossing pods throughout the day to decrease exposure
-No handling of food or sharing common items
-Daily deep cleaning of all rooms
-Regular sanitizing of common surfaces throughout the day
-Using zoom and other technology to facilitate group activities
-Only approved visitors permitted inside the building
